Hello everyone!
We had another productive and exciting day at XX Coders! After our pizza lunch, students learned a new programming language called Python using an interactive platform called Code Combat. Through Code Combat, students were able to learn computer science while playing real games. During our daily showcase, we shared and played each other’s creative and inventive games built in Scratch from the first two days of XX Coders. We also continued individual breakout sessions, where students spent one-on-one time to speak about their goals, interests and what they hope to achieve through this camp on a more personal level.
The trip date to the Google headquarters has been finalized for next Thursday, July 20. More details will become available in the coming days. We sent students home today with two waiver forms that must be completed and returned by no later than Friday, July 14, so that we can have a better idea of the number of students attending. Please make sure to return the completed forms in a timely manner – unfortunately, students will not be able to attend the trip if their forms have been not completed.
