Hello everyone!
Today students worked on deepening their programming skills by continuing from where they left off last week. They continued working on building fun games in Scratch or Python/Javascript through Code Combat. We played games as a group to get to know each other better. We also continued individual breakaway sessions where students spent one-on-one time with Mrs. Kavner and me to speak about their goals, interests and what they hope to achieve through this camp on a more personal level.
We have an action-packed week ahead of us!
This Thursday, we will visit the Google headquarters in NYC. We will leave the center at 10:00 am sharp. If your child needs pick-up, please let us know in advance. They need to be ready by 9:30 am for pick-up. If you have yet to return the signed waiver form, please do so by tomorrow! Completed forms are mandatory for trip participation and we don’t want any students to miss out on this amazing opportunity. Please make sure to wear your camp t-shirts on Thursday!
And this Friday, we have guest speakers from Girls, Inc., a nonprofit organization that encourages all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold through direct service and advocacy.
If any parents would like to visit the camp, you are more than welcome to stop by during camp hours! We would love for you see the students’ work and accomplishment!
We’re looking forward to more coding in the days to come! See you tomorrow!
Signing off– a girl who codes,
Aditi Patil
