Hello everyone!

Today was a very exciting day at camp! Students started the day by learning a new programming language called Java through an online platform called TechRocket. We had a guest speaker from Girls, Inc. Girls, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that encourages all girls to be strong, smart and bold through direct service and advocacy. Students participated in activities and open discussion promoting positive self-image, how the media influences our daily decisions, and steps young women can take to make right life decisions. After the talk, we had an ice cream truck come to the camp for the girls! They enjoyed ice cream and sundaes on their nice break from coding.

This Thursday, we will visit the Google headquarters in NYC. We will leave the Center at 10:00 am sharp. If your child needs pick-up, please let us know in advance. They would need to be ready by 9:30 am for pick-up.

If you have yet to return the signed waiver forms, please do so by tomorrow! Completed forms are mandatory for trip participation and we don’t want any students to miss out on this amazing opportunity.

Also, please make sure to wear your camp t-shirts for the trip to Google on Thursday!

Lastly, if any parents would like to visit the camp, you are more than welcome to stop by during camp hours! We would love for you to meet the camp instructors and see the students’ work and accomplishments!

We’re looking forward to more coding in the days to come! See you tomorrow!

Signing off–a girl who codes,
Aditi Patil
