Wow! We cannot believe we are already three days into our camp. Our girls continue to surprise us with their knowledge and adaptability to the lessons we explore together. Today, students spent the majority of the day playing around with a website known as Code Combat, a browser-based video game where they assumed the role of a knight and solved their way through the dungeons by figuring out puzzles. The puzzles began with more ‘pyhton style’ coding and moved into JavaScript as the day progressed. We encourage parents to also play along with their children by embarking on their own dungeon journey at www.codecombat.com.
As mentioned earlier this week, the girls will be coming home with a permission slip which must be filled out by parents in order to allow them to visit the Microsoft store in the city next Thursday (07/26). The permission form must be signed and returned to us by no later than next Tuesday (07/23) and is attached in this email if you need to print it out, however girls will get a copy tomorrow. In addition, please note that our ‘Python Day’ will be taking place next Wednesday (07/25). Please note: during this class, we will be bringing in actual snakes for the day. These snakes have been de-fanged and are completely safe for the girls to play with. The session will also be supervised by our mentors and volunteers at all times.
