Day 4: July 19th, 2018

Today, the STEM Queens of XX Coders continued their quest to learn coding through a variety of platforms: CodeCombat, Codecademy, CodingBat and more! Many of them succeeded in completing CodeCombat’s challenges and moved onto Codecademy, where they further enriched their knowledge of the language Python. Many of them will soon be able to accomplish our daily Coding Challenges which have proven to be quite difficult, but a few girls are already able to complete many of them!

Additionally, our guest played a “Swag Giveaway Bingo” game where the girls were able to win and trade prizes. This activity was extremely fun and the girls really enjoyed their swag. Tomorrow, there will be a guest speaker who started a women empowerment organization called “Embrace Your C.A.K.E.” We are looking forward to an amazing presentation! Additionally, the girls have gotten a permission slip for their Microsoft field trip next Thursday. Please fill them up and have the girls bring it to class ASAP. Also, as a reminder, this camp is Monday through Friday only and we do not meet on the weekends. I look forward to seeing you STEM queens tomorrow, have a wonderful evening!
