Hello Parents & Students.
Today on our second day of remote camp we continued our introductions around the Zoom classroom to familiarize ourselves with other girls part of XXCoders around Long Island! It’s amazing to see the diversity in students we’ve reached throughout Town of Huntington & Town of Babylon. We wanted to make sure the girls were comfortable talking to Ms. Diana and most importantly to each other in order to help each other. Today on Scratch we created a chat-bot that processed user input or user information to create a series of questions or responses and react by making faces, doing actions, or changing the backgrounds of the program. We ended class by watching a Ted talk on why it’s important for children to learn how to code so that they acknowledge what they’re doing can be a hobby or potential future for the girls. I can’t wait to continue our lessons tomorrow!
