Hello Parents & Students,
Today we learned how to link an image or document from the Internet onto a web page for our HTML code! We also learned the introduction to our CSS, cascading style sheets to edit the code onto a website for its appropriate design. We began to talk about different colors, color codes, borders, margins, lines, etc. that can be added to our CSS file that is referenced onto the HTML file for added structure to the web page being made. The girls played around with their code and asked a bunch of questions regarding the design and layout of a site. I then showed a Ted Talk on how coding can be an aspect of whatever job field the girls pursue in the future and even if they don’t necessarily have to be an expert on coding they can create their own website or application for themselves and their community. We’ll be continuing our HTML/CSS lessons tomorrow by create multiple files that work together to create links and references inside each other! See you tomorrow in class!
