Hello Parents & Students.
Today we continued our HTML/CSS journey by completing the home page and other tabs onto our faux website! The girls included pages such as a biography about themselves, why diversity and inclusion is important to them, and why the importance of Black Lives Matter movement is necessary. We ran camp a bit later this afternoon to grasp any personalized questions the girls had for the code outline that was given to them for their faux website. This evening we also had a pizza + swag drop off at the Family Life Center parking lot! Suffolk County Legislator and Ms. Jeanine Reynolds congratulated the XXCoders and what we’ve done for young women all across Long Island! Legislator Richberg also donated laptops to the Family Life Center for children in the Wyandanch community to use when needed for programs like XXCoders! We would like to thank all of our supporters such as NCWIT and LIWiT for providing for our XXCoders! To LaShana, Stefana, Bonnie, and Girls Inc thank you so much for speaking to our girls about confidence and the importance of young women and young women of color to be part of fields like technology.
