Good evening Parents and Students!
Today after the girls had their lunch we launched our first Python code. The girls were able to create how to roll a pair of die that produced two random numbers ranging from 1 to 6 like an actual dice. For tonight’s assignment that was given to the girls, they are looking at a linked piece of Python code at: https://trinket.io/python/3c4f6b2615 each of the girls were assigned one line of code. The girls must explain on a piece of paper that was given to describe what that line of code must mean. After our Python lesson, XXCoders hosted our second guest speaker this summer Devra. Devra works with a company Applicaster, that are excited to promote diversity in the technology and coding work place. Devra made a point as to how important it is for diverse groups of women in technology fields. To relate it to the girls, she pointed out that with people of color and women working with companies in technology, those companies themselves are able to produce outputs that are applicable for diverse people. With XXCoders see our efforts of closing the racial and gender gap in technology. Tomorrow we will continue our Python lesson!
