Mission

XXCoders was founded to encourage young women to learn about the wonders of the computer science field. Supporting girls’ interest in computer science will change the way many of them look at their careers and future goals, helping to close the shocking gender gap in this field. XXCoders has expanded its mission to bring computer science education to socioeconomically disadvantaged students and students with special needs. Computer science is a booming industry in modern society and in order for technology to advance, everyone needs to be part of this progress, and this is XXCoders’ ultimate goal.

Meet Our Team

Aditi Patil

Co-Founder

Aditi founded this non-profit, establishing an XXCoders Club at her high school, Half Hollow Hills High School East and then a summer and in-school program at the Wyandanch Family Life Center. XXCoders is an enthusiastic group of young women who meet regularly to support each other in their interest in Computer Science, by learning coding activities, meeting with guest speakers, and visiting technology companies in NYC like Microsoft or Google.

Diana Guerrero

Coding Instructor & Social Media Coordinator

Diana is a recent graduate from Farmingdale State College who found her passion for coding through her first Computer Science class during her freshman year. Due to a great selection of Computer Systems professors at Farmingdale State she was able to learn a vast array of programming and markup languages. She’s actively applying to take the next step to start her professional career in the Tech Industry!

Serena Inderjit

Head Volunteer

Serena is a junior at Half Hollow Hills High School West. From as far back as she can remember, she always had a keen interest in computers, electronics and gadgets. When she got to High School, she joined XXCoders and is very excited to volunteer her time to help other girls learn to code. She is also a member of the FRC Robotics team. Serena hopes to pursue a career in computing and software because it is a field that she enjoys.

Samaira Pawa

Volunteer

Samaira Pawa is a junior at Syosset High School. Since Samaira grew up seeing her Rotary Club Mother and Lion's Club Father, she always tried to help her parents whenever she could, whether it's making flyers, packing goody bags for donations, or volunteering to serve food at charitable events. She felt that XXCoders was the perfect opportunity for her to delve further into the world of coding, while also being able to help other girls explore coding themselves.
